Fluidigm is looking for a Temporary Microfluidics Research Associate to join our Research and Development Group. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working for a company that creates cutting edge scientific solutions and inspired by the opportunity to help develop new ways to bring genomic analysis to the scientific and biomedical communities.


You Will:

  • Serve as a key member of a multi-disciplinary team for testing, analyzing, and developing microfluidic device solutions
  • Support microfluidic chip performance characterization and improvement
  • Optimize existing workflow and material screening
  • Write protocols, reports, procedures and keep good record of daily work



You Have:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in chemistry, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline
  • Experience operating inside a molecular biology lab and have general knowledge of good housekeeping practices in lab
  • Experience using micropipettes, microscopes, and other typical molecular biology lab instruments such as vortex mixers, micro-centrifuges etc.
  • Experience using microfluidics, especially using valve-inclusive devices
  • Good patience
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook), and a willingness to learn simple scripting languages (Python)

Candidates with the following experience will be given priority:

    • PDMS or semiconductor device fabrication
    • Materials characterization
