If you can:

 

  • Provide research grade and engineering grade breadboards to Research Scientists;
  • Provide necessary engineering calculations to support breadboard and prototype design;
  • Analyze mechanical and system design for DFMA and DFA and generate reports;
  • Work on cost reduction and technological advancements of design;
  • Implement design improvements using knowledge of applicable theory to enhance the performance of the components;
  • Facilitate transfer of a working prototype to manufacturing;
  • Design of vacuum and pressure chambers
  • Precise positioning and motion translating mechanisms
  • Design of ion optics elements
  • Vacuum-atmosphere terminal interfaces
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Cooling and refrigerating systems
  • High voltage and High Voltage RF power sources – mechanical aspect
  • Structural design of lab equipment
  • Supervision and inspection of manufacturing
  • Excellent blueprint reading ability including thorough understanding of geometrical and dimensional tolerances

You must have:

 

  • MSc or BSc in Mechanical Engineering, with a minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Have an understanding of ion optics performance in vacuum
  • Hands-on experience with 3D CAD (CATIA, SolidWorks)
  • Hands-on experience with FEA software
  • Hands-on experience with shop environment
  • Manage multiple projects at any time
  • Must be able and willing to work in a fast-paced environment where you will interact with the engineering and production side of business
  • Work with minimal supervision or in team environment
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
